A Calisthenics Club is dependant for it’s success on the quality of it’s coaches. All our coaches are fully qualified with Australian Sports Commission Level 1 Accreditation and hold a First Aid Certificate.

They further develop their Calisthenics and coaching skills through continuing education courses run by ACF, CACTI and the Australian Coaching Council.

Cadets

Girls aged 14 years and over who have participated in Calisthenics for the last three years and have their Grade 2 certificate in the Calisthenics Skills program, are eligible to apply to become a cadet. This involves training with Evatt coaches in the many aspects of Calisthenics coaching. Cadets must also register with the ACF Cadet program that is a pre-requisite to the Level 1 Coach Program which involves a two-part course.

Once a cadet has completed their training and is 18 years of age, they are eligible to be assessed for the ACF coaching accreditation.

Team Managers and Wardrobe Managers are also appointed to each team each year.

Team Managers

Team Managers are an invaluable part of any team and particularly so in Calisthenics. They are the liaison between the coaches and parents and are instrumental in the smooth running of the team.

Their duties include:

  • Providing information and liaison between parents and coaches,
  • ensuring all parties are well informed on club and team matters.
  • Organising details for competitions, camp and concert.
  • Chaperoning at competitions and classes if required.

Wardrobe Managers

Calisthenics is a unique sport and a different leotard or costume is needed for every routine that is performed. Each year each team will have at least one new costume that needs to be made.

Their duties include:

  • Liaising with coaches as to team costume requirements.

  • Measuring team members and ordering fabric and sequins through the Purchasing officer.

  • Co-ordinating the making and sequinning of costumes.

  • Ensuring costumes are ready for competitions and concert.

  • Co-ordinating costume changes in dressing room if required.

Parental Assistance

The help and support of parents is needed throughout the year.  Assistance may be required for sewing/sequinning.

As a club we are allotted one day per year at CACTI competitions to provide duties. Every Evatt family is rostered for 1 to 2 hours on our given day. (Date to be advised.)
